On September 12, The Education Trust–New York hosted the New York Education Equity Benefit — a gathering of education advocates, leaders, and stakeholders across New York State.
There was a palpable energy at the benefit with many nonprofit partners, education leaders, and state and local leaders in attendance. During the event, we dined, networked, and celebrated outstanding equity champions while exploring ways to advance education equity for every student in New York State.
Our team had the honor to recognize the 2023 Ed Trust–NY Equity Champions, Chancellor John B. King, Jr. of the State University of New York, former U.S. Secretary of Education under Barack Obama, and Dr. Tonja M. Williams, superintendent of Buffalo Public Schools.
