Our interactive data tools are designed to equip policymakers, educators, parents, and community leaders with the insights they need to advocate for greater resources and assess how effectively New York State’s education system is serving students.
The New York
FAFSA Completion Tracker
Completing the FAFSA is a critical step on the path to college. This data tool helps users track how well New York is supporting all eligible high school seniors in completing the FAFSA and securing the financial aid they need to make college a reality. It provides the estimated percentage of high school seniors who have completed the FAFSA in the 2023-24 school year.
To and Through: From
High School to College Success
This tool highlights the most important measure of college readiness: whether high school graduates who enroll in college persist and ultimately earn a degree or certificate. It includes data for students estimated to have graduated from New York State high schools in 2017, enrolled the following fall in a New York college or university, and participated in the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).
K-12
Funding
Using publicly available school-level funding data for the 2022-23 school year, submitted by districts to the New York State Division of the Budget, this tool allows users to examine how resources are distributed across schools and districts. It helps analyze whether students from low-income backgrounds, students with disabilities, and multilingual learners are receiving the support they need to thrive.

New York State
Teacher retention—especially the retention of teachers of color—is a key factor in ensuring that the teaching workforce reflects the diversity of the students it serves. This tool shows how school districts across the state are performing in representing student diversity and retaining teachers from different racial and ethnic backgrounds.
